Robin Young
Founder/Chief Executive Officer
With a 15 year career in business operation and international marketing management behind him, Robin founded Seedlink in 2013, applying his knowledge of, and passion for, linguistic technology, human resources, organizational equality, and diversity. Prior to this he ran publishing and viral marketing for the top grossing mobile game, 调教三国 (Tiao Jiao San Guo). Robin has also held the roles of executive producer for Promise Productions and executive director of International Publishing for TipCat Games.
Today as founder and CEO of Seedlink, Robin has successfully integrated the best use of multiple technologies, such as AI, NLP and machine learning, with human resource management. Seedlink develops industry-leading technology that helps companies predict employee behavior and hire talent through analyzing natural human language. By building the core values of equality and diversity, Robin, aided by his team, is using this pioneering solution to challenge traditional performance assessments and human bias.
Rina Joosten-Rabou
Co-Founder/Chief Commercial Officer
Rina Joosten-Rabou is an entrepreneur, board member and publicist. Prior to co-founding Seedlink she founded HR consultancy International Top Talent in both China and Europe. Rina held various management positions at DSM, a global science-based company, where she focused on the commercialization process of R&D and innovation.
Rina is a regular speaker and writer on technology, human capital and entrepreneurship. She delivered a speech on ‘How A.I. changes the way we find careers’ at Tedx ShanghaiWomen. Rina is a board member in the Benelux Chamber of Commerce where she chairs the Innovation Platform. She serves as a jury member for the HULT prize in Asia, an initiative to steer social entrepreneurship by the Clinton Foundation, and as a mentor in the Start Up Leadership Program where she coaches female tech entrepreneurs. She is also a guest lecturer at Fudan University and NYU in Shanghai.
Rina has an MSc and MA degree from Groningen University in the Netherlands. She is married and has four children.
Summer Xia
Co-Founder/Chief Operation Officer
Summer has a professional background in IT and rich experience in management. She worked in Volkswagen Shanghai for many years where she was in charge of IT core system building and maintenance. Deciding to leave her comfort zone of having a stable career path, Summer then went to the UK where she competed an MBA degree at Manchester Business School. It was here that she met Robin and together they established Seedlink after returning to China and embarking upon their business journey.
Summer is a rigorous-thought entrepreneur with an adventurous spirit. Combining her love of technology and adventure, she leads Seedlink to bring innovative technology into new business areas. Currently Summer focuses on overall operations while also helping global clients to understand Seedlink’s technology and its value.
Simon Blanchard
Chief Technology Officer
Simon Blanchard is an accomplished executive who leads the technology team at Seedlink. Simon's career spans 27 years across Europe and Asia. Before joining Seedlink Simon co-founded yaean design in Shanghai and Hong Kong, where he served as Chairman and CTO. Prior to that he was a department head at Philips Research, leading research in the fields of optical storage and digital television. Simon loves inventing, programming and his guitar. He's a highly sought after speaker and demonstrator who has presented at conferences globally.
Shin Gern Sam
Vice President of Product & Marketing
Sam leads the Product & Marketing team at Seedlink. He started his career in technology at (recently rebranded to dotdash). As the very first hire to their Business Intelligence unit, Sam was instrumental in building the team from the ground up. While in the role he led many initiatives, from product analytics to consumer intelligence. Sam then made the leap to Silicon Valley-based Upwork, the largest freelancing platform in the world, where he led the company's global marketing analytics practice. Having grown up in Asia, Sam brings to Seedlink the cultural knowledge of the East, combined with the best practices of the West.

Professor Gert Jan Hofstede

Gert Jan Hofstede is a Population Biologist of Human Organizational Behaviour, and is currently an associate professor at Wageningen University in the Netherlands. Gert Jan creates computational simulations and animates group simulation games with ambiguous incentive systems. Both methods allow natural group behaviours to occur and to be analyzed in areas such as culture, leadership, negotiation, and trust. He is a proficient author and published in many areas related to socio-technical systems, complexity and/or culture. Gert Jan is a speaker for business and academic audiences worldwide, mainly regarding cross-cultural topics. He co-authored Culture and Organizations: Software of the Mind in 2010, which is an international bestseller in 20+ languages. Gert Jan, who has served as a NIAS/Lorentz fellow, also founded SiLiCo Centre Wageningen.
Professor Walter Daelemans
Computational Linguistics
University of Antwerp
Walter Daelemans is Professor of Computational Linguistics and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Antwerp where he directs the CLiPS (Computational Linguistics & Psycholinguistics) research group. He is a fellow of EURAI and ACL (Association for Computational Linguistics) and a member of the Royal Academy of Dutch Language and Literature. His research interests lie in the machine learning of natural language, for example in the development of Memory-Based Language Processing (CUP, 2005); computational psycholinguistics, computational stylometry, language technology applications.
